Final website.

Complete digipak.

This demonstrates the overall progression of the digipak throughout the time we have spent on the music video. When looking through all the drafts and plans you can see how much has developed throughout the time.
Originally we thought we could get away with enforce identity through other means, but after researching on other albums that were similar genre to us it influenced us to be able to make everything a lot better.  As the music artist we  chose was a solo artist being recognised is massive for the artist.
The second draft then benefited for realising the identity from our original footage. we gathered footage and pictures to be able to create the first draft. we also added the blue watery colour into the scheme which also found its way into the finished video, website and digipak. However some of the images that were taken with this edit on them didn't look very professional and then we had to take some more photos for a more professional look for Nicholas Alexander.
The final drafts and complete digipak shows that we gathered some brilliant location sots along with amazing lighting which we used to its full potential. The photoshot that we done on the day were included on the final album cover. (Nick on the bridge) many other locaion shots found their way into the final digipak and increased quality massively.

This is the magazine cover that we designed so that people would be interested in reading the magazine. We made the cover look in your face so that it would attract new fans. It tells you on the cover what to expect inside the magazine.

Digipak Photoshoot

Finished digipak.

When looking at feedback we received within the group we decided that we were going to change a few things to be able to make the digipak better. we decided on a few things to get rid of so that the digipak didn't repeat in any places, such as the lyric list.We also changed the photo that weren't good quality, we took more photos as part of a photo shot and then added these pictures to the digipak. More of the digipak was made to look professional such as the bar code was made transparent so that fans could concentrate on other things. The urban jungle font was then deleted because it didnt look professional.

Rough copy feedback

This is some of the feedback that we got from the people that had watched our music videos the average mark we got between all the feedback we recieved back is 31. This makes our group really happy as it was only our rough copy and knowing we could make it even better boasted the groups confidence we've being able to do so.
A summery of the feedback that we got back from the peers in our class was that;
Some of the lighting turned out bad in some of the shots. This is noticed a lot and sadly brings the video down a lot.

Some of the shots are really wobbly meaning it is noticeable and they would have to be filmed again with a steady camera angle, making sure they are suitable to put in our final music video.

One of the major points of feedback we
Got was that there is to much cycling and after a while it gets a bit boring because it goes on for a whole. This can be changed by putting different shots into the video to make it better for the final video to be published.

Social media progression

Instagram

Twitter

Facebook

As you can see Nicholas Alexander has updated all his social media sites. This is so his fans know exactly what he has been up to and can see his new photos of his progression to making the 'Im no superman' music video.

Now that we have finished our first draft we would like to ask our target audience some questions about out music video. The answers that we get back from these are going to help us improve for our final music video.

Digipak feedback

  • Its quite an aesthetically pleasing digipak to look at, nice poses :) the white bit behind the track names is a bit of an eyesore. But overall the text, theme and colour creates a mood and goes with the genre.
  • There is a very clear blue theme throughtout all of the pictures. 4 of the pictures (sides) are all really professional. The top left box is the worst one has it does not continue the theme and does look professional.
  • Nicholas Alexanders digipacks images are very proffesional they look great. Especially the CD cover this design is very creative. Im a bit confused about the blue tint colour and the random triangle shape.
  • Good that they have kept the same colour theme throughout the digipack. Could be improved by moving the image on the CD as having the hole in that area doesnt work.
  • When looking at nicholas alexander digipak the colours are different most people have used black and white but the blue colour works well. Images work well with the rest of the digipak as well as the fonts and text.
  • Love the colour scheme, font and layout! I'd say it's pretty much there, just make the bar code and credits transparent so that that white box isn't there :)
  • Love the colour scheme, font and layout! I'd say it's pretty much there, just make the bar code and credits transparent so that that white box isn't there :)
  • This was probably my favorite. I really like how there is a clear theme throughout, and the colours look great together. Good pictures and everything is layed out well. Could maybe have text on the disc.
  • I like the use of colour but the pictures look too heavily edited and this makes the images look quite unprofessional. The images with a blue tint is nice but the tint is slightly too bright which makes the pictures look low quality.
  • i dont see anything wrong with the digipack, i like the fact it has a colour scheme abd sticks to the theme.
  • The all one colour looks good although just the picture of the lake is quite boring.
  • i like the blue effect they have over the whole thing i think the black and white pictures should be changed to blue as they don't go.
  • The blue looks odd/not realistic/not right All photos are good Not clear on genre.
  • Could do with Less heavy-handed filters, more subtle and effective.
  • i like the bright blue - very eye-catching and well-executed throughout. there are two tracklists on the digipak and in two different orders which is confusing. i also like the use of shapes - circle, triangle and squares. clean-cut and modern.
  • I like the blue theme throughout - the back album cover where the tracks are listed is especially good and effective. Improvements: the CD is a bit strange, it looks like its trying to be a bit of a joke where the hole is cut out rather than a professional digipak.

teacher feedback

Today the group went through the rough cut with the teacher to get more feedback and to make us aware of minor issues as well as more obvious ones.

The list that was picked out was
- 00:409 pan too fast.
- Buy the song as this is poor quality.
- Correct shot 00:34 - 00:35 as shot does not fit.
- Shot 00:57.
- Cycling to fast.
- Remove tree shot.
- 1:48 cycling shot wobbly.
- Increase length of bridge shot.
- stabilize grass shot 1:59.
- 2:05 biking shot.
- 2:10 remove bridge dip.
- 2:25 remove cycling shot.
- 2:51 out of sync.
All of this advice was taking into consideration with the feedback from the peers in our class, along with all the feedback we fixed the problems ready for our second rough copy so that more feedback can be received.

Digipak Favorite.

Today we were asked to create feedback on the rest of the class's feedback. When looking through all of the digipak i decided that this one was my favorite. This is because its not to much in your face and everything is done well. All the colors go well together.

First Draft

website feedback

WWW - a good amount of pages with a good amount of information. Keeping with the conventions of what Nicholas Alexander is about
EBI - the background was changed to something more professional. Also, the pictures on the tour page aren't of Nicholas Alexander, bit confusing?!
Nicholas Alexander: A good website throughout, the pages have a lot of information and include
what fans wish to know. All social media links work well and take you to the appropriate page so that fans can go directly to the social media account and know its the official page. This website would be even better if in the gallery page the images looked a bit more professional... Maybe do a professional photo shoot with the star dressed up in a professional setting? Also, the image on the home page of 'Nicholas and his manager' the green doesn't look very appealing. Maybe use the green screen effect on premier.
· Links to social media are cool
· Quite boring
· No info about the band

Nicholas Alexander:
WWW - A good amount of pages with a good amount of information. Keeping with the conventions of what Nicholas Alexander is about. Good colour scheme and conventions throughout.
EBI - The text is abit unprofessional? Change wording to improve.

Nicholas Alexander:
WWW - The colour scheme and look fits the artist's genre. I love the pictures of Nick used and his bio is very in-depth.
EBI - Grammatical errors need to be fixed on the homepage. Pictures of other artists should be removed from the 'Tour Dates' page.
NA - The website as a whole is very good and well thought out however i feel that a little more work could have been taken into the photographs. In my opinion i feel that they should retake the photoshoot pictures and get someone who is able to take photos. Unfortunately they are all out of focus and are not clear in the slightest therefor this takes away from the professionalism of the page. I like how they have conducted interviews and looked into the more business side of the music industry including booking and things to do with his manager. They do not seem to have any merchandise at all on the site. I feel that this would be a good idea for them because it will make their site more appealing to fans that want to buy their merchandise to wear at their concert.

WWW: Has a smooth flow, really informative and easy to navigate around the site, Matches genre.

EBI: The pictures need to be more professional looking, maybe get more interesting pictures. Some of them are too grainy. I guess you can't change this because it's the album cover but the background hurts my eyes. Need to keep the font the same.

Score: 7/10
What’s good:
Flows nicely, nice use of colour, pages are well filled out with text and information. nice text used as well.
Even better if:
On the 'Tour Dates' page the text is all different fonts, needs to keep to the house style! The images on the website need finishing rather than just using the green screen background. Loads of grammatical mistakes as-well! Picture on the bio page is really fuzzy. The little welcome message was removed.
The group have made a great start on the website but some things still need to be added such as more professional photos and some of the text needs to be looked over as there are mistakes and also the font tends to change. This would make the website look sloppy but this can all be changed easily just by looking over the website and checking. I think that there is a lot of good content and will end up being a very good website.
what went well - the background of the homepage has lovely, striking colours. the homepage includes current news about nicholas. the 'first noticed' video on the 'about' page is a very good and clever idea.
even better if - there are some grammar errors that could be fixed on the 'about' page. on the 'tour' page there are pictures of other artists which need to be deleted.
I really enjoy this website. It has a good neutral background and I like the way they have put their interviews on there. They havent put to many pictures onto the website which is good oththerwise you get overloaded with things. I also like the way that they have a picture on thier with their manager because this is an important part of the group which isnt always mentioned in the fame.

The only thing that I would change is the where in the background you cannot see the full name of the artist Nicholas Alexander because it is cut off from the screen.
The website gives a clear description as to whom Nicholas Alexander is and what he represents, we see a Bio of who he is and this allows new fans to relate to the artist. We are also linked to sites where we can listen to more of the artist, itunes soundcloud and youtube for example. There is no merchandise on the website which means a lack of investment in the website from fans outside the purchase of tickets. Also for a new artist the tour seems very limited and non available to the majority of the country.
What I like about this website is the layout that they have used. The background I think looks great and the home page of the website is a real strength, the album front cover and also Nicholas Alexander's interview with BBC Radio 1. The areas that could be improved are some of the photos in the gallery, they don't seem to be the best quality, and maybe their could be a bit more information about the artist. however they have good links to twitter, instagram etc, so overall I think the website is looking good

These are the posters that i was influenced by to be able to make our own tour date for our music artist. These poster that i was influenced by are also the same genre of our music artist.

New photoshoot.

As you can see from our new Photoshoot pictures they are a lot better then recent pictures that we have took of the music artist. These are all a lot better quality and are a lot better for the fans, these will then be added to the Digipak and the website.

Shot list

I'm no superman lyrics

Out the door just in time
Head down the 405
Gotta meet the new boss by 8 a.m.
The phone rings in the car
The wife is workin' hard
She's running late tonight again

Well
I know what I've been told,
You got to work to feed the soul
But I can't do this all on my own
No, I know, I'm no Superman
I'm no Superman

You've got your love online
You think you're doing fine
But you're just plugged into the wall

And that deck of tarot cards
Won't get you very far
There ain't no hand to break your fall

Well
I know what I've been told
You gotta know just when to fold
But I can't do this all on my own
No, I know, I'm no Superman
I'm no Superman

That's right

You've crossed the finish line
Won the race but lost your mind
Was it worth it after all

I need you here with me
Cause love is all we need
Just take a hold of the hand that breaks the fall

Well I know what I've been told
Gotta break free to break the mold
But I can't do this all on my own
No I can't do this all on my own
I know that I'm no Superman
I'm no Superman
I'm no Superman

Someday we'll be together
I'm no Superman
Someday
Someday we'll be together
Someday
I'm no Superman

Website feedback.

Gracestarr
The Gracestarr website has a good layout and looks like it is almost complete. All the information on the website is appropriate and tells you everything that you would want to know about the music artist. Everything on the website has what a professional music artist website would have. The only thing that could be improved is filling up the empty space on the pages that have large spaces free. All the pictures on the website all look professional.

Encoded
Encoded website at the moment is quite basic. It tells you small information about when the album is out, what the album is called etc. An advantage of the website is the countdown, This hasn't been used before, its a quick easy way to know when the album is coming out. The disadvantage of the website is many of the pages haven't been completed, such as the gallery page, This doesn't have any pictures of the band on the page. The only pictures that they do have are on the home page, this is good and bad, good because it shows you who the band are as soon as you go onto the website, and bad because they are the only pictures and should be on the gallery page as well.

James Cosmo
The Cosmo website has a good layout throughout the whole website. Every page has a picture of who the music artist is. The best page is the gallery page that has the most pictures on them, with a good layout and a small bit of information. There are a few pages on the website that have a lot of empty space and can be filled with more information about the music artist. An advantage of the website is as soon as you get onto the home page you see the music artist identity straight away.

Hybridbeauty
The Hybridbeauty website gives the band a good identity as soon as you go onto the website. It shows you a good professional picture of the band, as well as a video trailer of the band. The website looks good with a different picture on each page, The only disadvantage on a couple of the pages is that the background picture and the text clash, as they are both black and white and this makes it hard to be able to read. Another thing is there are no pictures on the gallery page.

Alleyways
Alleyways website has a good identity as soon as you go onto the website, Shows you pictures, album release, and album songs, This website also has a different layout to many other websites you would see. The gallery page is one of the best pages it has good professional pictures, that gives you the option to see only some at the same time meaning you don't see all the pictures at once. All the pages have the same layout. The only page that could be worked on is the video page that has a lot of free space that can be taken up by different information about the videos.

Alexecho
The Alexecho website shows professional pictures of the music artist as soon as you view the website. The information that has been put on the page has taken up the whole page meaning there is nothing to fill as it also has a picture of the music artist on the page as well. More pictures could be added to the gallery page that have a different location and the links to the twitter, Instagram and Facebook page could be linked. A few more bits of merchandise could be added for the fans.

Jamescouleur
As soon as you go onto the website it asks you to follow the music artist on Facebook. This is a good way to show fans how to connect with the artist. The twitter feed coming up at the side of the home page is also a good way for the fans to be able to connect. The tour dates show you a good collage of picture of the music artist. The gallery page also has lots of professional pictures on there. The only page that has a lot of free space is the album page that doesn't show you the album cover on the page.

shooting schedule

Merchandise

This is some of the merchandise that has been created for the fans of Nicholas Alexander fans. The merchandise can be bought by fans from the official website of the music artist. These are just some of the items that will be sold.

Website progress

This is the gallery page on our website, the gallery is the one page that has changed the most throughout the website. This is because the pictures that were originally on the gallery page didn't look professional and weren't good enough to be able to present on the music artist website. The one thing that we kept on the gallery page was the passage that is written next to the pictures, This passage tells you a lot about Nicholas Alexander and this is something stable enough to keep.

This is a page on the website that needs to have a little more work done on it, This is because the pictures that you can see at the top of the page are black and white picture that aren't Nicholas Alexander. The pictures need to be changed so that it does show the music artist although the black and white pictures give off a good effect.

This is our 'contact detail' page. There isn't a lot more that we could put onto this page apart from the obvious information that needed to be on there. For ideas of what to put into onto our contact page we looked at other music artist websites.

This is our bio page and it tells you a lot about Nicholas Alexanders life. All of the information on this page is Nicholas Alexanders life and tells you all about how he started. There is one thing that lacks on this page and this is the image you see. The image will be changed to a better picture.

Institution

Talent
Nicholas Alexander has not had his big break yet after reading the article about talent. Nicholas Alexander has spent loads of his time working on his music video, he has been to many different locations for the music video to make sure that everything he has filmed is good enough for his fans. Nicholas Alexander is trying to make the best identity for himself.  The locations that Nicholas Alexander has used hasn't been costly and has a lot of money. The only thing that has cost for the music video was the props that were used such as the costume and the bike. This all saves a lot on investment. Nicholas Alexander is going to have to be aware of the talents that he does have meaning he has more confident in himself and shows his fans what he can really do. Nicholas would be constantly reminding himself of the talents he already has and what he can do in the future to improve. This is more important for him then the big break. After Nicholas works more and more on his talent and he is comfortable with what he was doing it would be the right time to take the big break, but the most important thing is talent and how strong Nicholas is with his talent. Nicholas Alexander is the happiest when he is involved in filming and singing for his music album. He is going to do his best to make his fans happy. Due to creating his music video and spending a lot of his time on it Nicholas Alexander hasn't really been following the advice. This is something that Nicholas Alexander must improve on.

Product
Nicholas Alexander has benefited massively on social media, This is because of the different social media attractions that he has, such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram as well as his official website. This is all for his fans. By having all these things it makes Nicholas Alexander have more popularity, this could make him bigger and boost his confidence to make more and more fans happier with what he does. Nicholas is working a lot on his product, as said one of the major challenges of an unsigned artist is the facing the product. As Nicholas Alexander is working so hard on all these things soon he will complete the product he needs. As Nicholas Alexander is creating his music video is he already succeeding in this regard.

Placement
In order to get Nicholas Alexander work established and recognised he has to make sure he places hes songs, music albums and music videos in good secure places for his fans to be able to see. It mentions that music artists create big breaks and doesn't wait for the recognition. Examples of where Nicholas Alexander could put his music are,
- SoundCloud
- Reverbnation
- MusicXray
- IndieGoGo

Promotion
Nicholas Alexander is hugely popular with social media due to the different social media website and fan pages that Nicholas Alexander has. These social media gains fan base.

Reflection on blog.

A lot has been done on the blog lately to make sure that i am keeping up to date with what needs to be done within the group i am working with. my aim is to get to at least 100 posts.
After finishing the posts that i was aiming to blog i set myself some targets of;

  • Make sure i finish more blog post before starting a new one.
  • Analyze each post more.
  • Improve grammer.
In order for me to achieve these 3 targets i need to make sure i check over every blog posts once i have completed the task.

How i got  on with my improvement...

More target for improvement...

Record label

I decided for this record label that it wouldn't be too outgoing and would still have bold letters, picture and colours. The record is called 'Boundless' because its a catchy one word name which is what  many record labels have and is also distinguishable. The colours that i have used are also the colours that are used within the Digipak.

Target Audience

We decided to investigate our Target audience by asking them to complete a survey. Our music video is based around a love story. Our video is very calm and only has very few locations. We wanted to find out what the target audience of the people we had to survey what they enjoyed through a music video, what sort of music they listen too, if the album cover depends on whether they are buying the album or not, many questions like this were asked. The results of the survey were:
