Representation within a music video

The representation on this music video shows that Miley Cyrus has a lot of power within herself.
A lot of iconography is used within the video with prob such as a hammer and a 'wrecking ball' these are powerful props that could be dangerous this show that the lyrics and music video relate. During the video you see that Miley Cyrus doesn't wear any clothes whilst on the wreaking ball this shows that sexual empowerment. When this happens in the video it would attract a lot of males, this would lead to male gaze. Miley Cyrus invited herself to look sexual in the music video, Attracting other people mainly males to watch the video and listen to her music. Female roles in a music video are us ally known to be dancers, glamorous or show important roles. Different camera shots are used in the video to make Miley look more sexual, an example of this would be the camera zooms into Miley whilst she is swinging on the ball leaning back, naked. The setting where the music video is filmed is a lower class stereotype construction site this is appropraite because it realtes to the way the lyrics are sang and the way everything is set in the music video. The only person in the music video is miley which means she is already getting all the attention in the video but because she does what shes does with the secxual moves and naked shots it attracts more people and she would get more attention onto herself. When miley is singing there is a close up of her face watching her sing this then changes when she shows action with hammering down the walls. using a prop like a hammer make miley look strong and have a lot of power this is what males would normally do within in a music video.
